I would like to begin by saying it was obviously a wonderful experience being able to blog consistently about YGO. However, a few problems arose that have made it difficult to continue blogging 3 articles a day while writing for TCGPlayer, Pojo, and staying up to date with trade threads on numerous sites.
Go-YGO was intended to be a joint venture with a big TCG store (that will go unnamed). Our plans were to help readers become better at the game while being sponsored to create exciting contests and even monetized content that would provide a financial incentive to building a devoted YGO community.
As many of you know, YGO is one of the few TCG’s that is actually holding its ground. With the rise of the internet and different forms of gaming, the TCG industry is dying and every major new product launch has failed miserably. Without being able to rely on the flagship online store (it has been delayed for almost a year now), it’s difficult for me to continue building the infrastructure for this venture simply on the love for you guys alone
.
Unfortunately this development coincides with my second year at law school; it’s become too difficult to continue pinning my hopes to an unreliable partner and so the blog must temporarily be shut down for now. My apologies.

A real bummer. We appreciate what you do for the game Jae. Your articles are always enjoyable. I wish you all the luck in school and hope that a more reliable partner can be found so we can read more.
peace dude.
wowowowwowowowowwow!!!!!!!! FIRST POST
Why do you need to do it with them? Can’t you just go it alone? After all, a blog doesn’t cost very much to run.
So, what happens to the cards I sent in???
Wow Jae. I’m sorry to hear that. We lose a pretty decent blog due to shenanigans. Your content was great and helped fill the void that has been left by metagame.com. I will continue to follow your musings elsewhere.
NOOOOOO!!! Don’t leave Jae!!!
is it true that your buylist isn’t paying out
Sorry to hear that Jae, I know how you feel (I’ve got a million things that need doing atm). Hopefully I’ll see you on Pojo.DGZ/my blog at some stage.
Is it true your site hasn’t been paying out to its buylist?
What? I am 1L and I keep getting told the 2nd year would be easier.
Has it been more of a struggle for you?
we’ll miss you jae
Jae, we’re gonna miss you man. I hope you come back around, maybe post random updates now and then; even without the financial/card incentive, I know there’s a million and one noobs like me out there who love reading your articles, and every little one helps, even if it’s a once a week “here’s what’s being going on in my meta”, or “here’s some cool tech” sort of thing
But best of luck with what you’re doing, and I really hope it all goes well!
GIVE PEOPLE’S CARDS BACK!!! RIPPER!!!!!! BUYLIST DOESN’T PAY OUTTT!!!
On DGZ we were all wondering what became of the blog on the thread you started.
Have you considered bringing in other writers? Maintaining a blog IS a lot for one man to handle and having other writers could help the site be updated regularly, add more flavor, as well as cover additional bases. You had a good thing going and after putting in all the work to get this started it seems a shame to just leave it sitting.
There are many people who would be willing to help with this blog. With enough writers and coverage, who knows? This very well could become the “new Metagame” that everyone checks.
Whatever you decide, best of luck Jae.
I love you (no homo). Jared owes me money on PS so i’m going to be grinding during the christmas holidays, come online sometime so we can discuss poker antics (maybe even ygo antics). Hope you’re back soon, Gehring says ‘a’ too much.
Law school is for chumps :-p
Nice to see a blog turn into a scammer site.
Really? A lot of us knew this site would eventually go down with only one person blogging on it. People (who’ve probably never met him) are still in love with this person even though he blames his burnout on other people? It’s clear to any individual that a burnout will come when they post so frequently. Seriously, I am sure other factors are involved but all that had to be done was say that the business part of the website is not going to be running for a while. Instead though, he says since the partners on the business side backed out he cannot post anymore.. Yeah and I sold my car not because I wanted money but because other people are looking for cars… And people actually by into everything he says like hes the second coming of jesus.
Seriously, yourface? Why should we, or better yet-how could you (collectively speaking) ever ask anyone in this society to do something for free. I mean, there’s no problem with having money as your primary incentive for doing something, especially something as trivial as this. After all, look how hard Mr. Kim worked on this site back when it was up. How could you reasonably expect anyone to go on doing that when they stop getting reimbursed for it?
@ Derrick.
You may misunderstand my whole point. This site had one blogger, and that blogger was posting something almost everyday. This will lead to burn out. Plus, we were only given his side of the story, not the other side’s.
I’m not saying I expect anyone to do anything for free, but I am saying when it comes to a hobby that one shouldn’t expect funding to last forever either. My main concern was that he wasing blaming an appearant burnout on a different group, not taking any blame himself.
Even so, it’s ashame that people get so greedy that when talking about one of their hobbies they expect to reap financial benefits. Even if his time was so important that he couldn’t post 4-5 times a week (pretty normal) he could have at least posted once or twice a week. I know many youtube videos that have loyal gamers talking about strategy and posting decks for free.
