Day Two Competitors at Gencon SJC Indianapolis

Fili Luna wins SJC Indianapolis at Gencon!

Congratulations to Fili Luna. Taking down Adam Corn and Dale Bellido en route to a fourth finals victory at a Shonen Jump Championship is no easy feat. Luna’s victory with Blackwings signals the end of this format and puts a close to the busiest part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! season. This six-month period featured two Shonen Jump Championships, U.S Nationals, Canadian Nationals, the European Championship, and the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2009. Expect to see a recap of Indy and the format itself on go-YGO.com.

I hope you are enjoying the new design. There are a few important items this week, leading up to Gen Con Indy.

Go-YGO.com’s Yu-Gi-Oh! Buy List

Please click on “Buy List” in the navigation menu up above to access the current Buy List for Yu-Gi-Oh! We are partnering with Comic Odyssey (the legendary California store) to offer the best prices on your merchandise. I was inspired to create the buy list by my experience at the Yu-Gi-Oh! Nationals. Comic Odyssey ran a vendor booth there and I was amazed by the amount of people that told me the great prices Odyssey was offering. Rather than have players continue to be gouged by vendors, I would much prefer to see a community filled with real people trading with each other (and fair prices).

Go-YGO.com is not just buying the big money cards either! All sorts of cards from commons to regular rares are included (a quick glance shows stuff like Archfiend Soldier, Horus LV4 through LV 8, Time Wizard, and other “crap” being bought). Make sure to find it up above, or click the Yu-Gi-Oh! buy list link to take a look.

Thank you to all of the readers and contributors who have turned this blog into one of the sharpest Yu-Gi-Oh communities on the Internet. There is some exciting news to share for this week.

Go-YGO.com To Feature Live Updating of Shonen Jump Championships and Worlds

Starting from Gencon Indy, Go-YGO.com will feature live updating of information at each Shonen Jump Championship. While it is impossible to show feature matches at the event (only Konami representatives are allowed to engage in such activity), I will do my best to spotlight innovative decks and strategies over the weekend. The deck profiles will not be gimmicky but actually feature top tier builds.

Also, currently Konami’s official site does not list standings at the end of the event. Nor does it provide enough feature matches and coverage to distinguish which of your favorite top players (and even friends of yours) have done well for themselves. While I am at each event, I will do my best to keep you updated on the performance of big names and the emergence of new strategies.

This Week at Go-YGO.com, July 27th

With 96 out of 156 votes cast (not bad for the first two days of a website!), your winner for Post of the Week is Matt Peddle!

Congratulations to Mr. Peddle for winning the first Go-YGO.com post of the week contest. I am likely to abolish Post of the Week and simply make it a post of [...]
