To all those who joined go-YGO.com in its maiden voyage, thank you so much. I am currently brain-storming ways to reward the original members of this site (as page views push into the thousands and hopefully hundreds of lurkers and new members join). The traffic and feedback for this blog have given me very high hopes for the Yu-Gi-Oh! community and part of my goal here is to constantly think of ways to encourage and reward feedback. So I am implementing a new feature.
Every last entry of the month, go-YGO.com will spotlight the three most thought-provoking and interesting comments from contributors.
The format will involve a post of the comment followed by a bio (this can be erased at your request) of the poster. I will then provide my take on the author’s point.
There will be a poll at the bottom for those to vote for which comment was most informative. The poll will be open to both registered and unregistered viewers of the blog.
Once the sponsorship details of this blog are arranged within a few weeks (this blog will be supported by a major TCG distributor in California that doesn’t rhyme with Schmodic Woddysey), three ideas will be implemented:
First off, the names of all registered users who vote in the poll will be entered into a drawing.
Three registered voters will each receive a Go-YGO.com Duelist Preparation pack containing:
One pack of Player’s Choice or KMC Yu-Gi-Oh! sleeves
A handsome, custom dice
Dueling calculator
In addition, another lucky registered voter will receive a free lesson with a top player of his or her choice.
And finally, the Four Winners each Post of the Month winner up to the date of the next scheduled Konami Premier event will then duke it out in a single-elimination tournament.
The winner of this single-elimination tournament will receive free paid airfare/travel expenses to the next Shonen Jump Championship.
As it stands, probably every few months some participant of go-YGO.com will end up winning the sponsorship package that Konami gives as a first place SJC prize.
Minors who cannot fly and winners outside of the United States will have the option to exchange this for official Konami playmats and other Yu-Gi-Oh! merchandise that meet the value of the travel package.
Disclaimer: This has not been implemented yet.
I am still working out ideas for how to reward participation, so benefits may be changed for better or worse as the idea develops. Please leave feedback in the comments section for what types of prizes you would enjoy from these drawings.
And vote for your top pick this week below!:

“Each month, one lucky registered voter will receive a free lesson with a top player of his or her choice.”
Beats every prize I’ve seen from a contest online, ever.
This site keeps getting better and better Jae.
I have read your articles from your start on Pojo up to now, and I must say that I love everything that you’ve written for and about this game. I can tell this site is going to be -the- site when it comes to great articles…
wow! that would be absolutly amazing. I would LOVE that. It would actually give me a chance of going to gen con….. lol
I am glad to see some great players that might not have the money to go to big events have the chance to win a trip. I know this isn’t official yet but it is a great idea.
also, thanks for the site jae. this is awesome. The tragoedia article really opened my eyes to that card.
Nice prizes; I like the idea a lot. Maybe add free [valuable] cards as prizes as well.

Seeing how I could stack up against a pro would be a dream.
And so would be being able to meet Matt, Dale or Jae for real…
